Pending installation, wood and aluminum-clad wood products should be stored in a dry, temperate area.

We strongly recommend that all wood pieces be painted or stained before installation.

In the event that Nocra does not perform your installation, it is important that you ensure that the installation of our products is done according to the rules of the trade and the recommendations of the standard: A-440.4- 98 published by the Canadian Standards Association.

Make sure that the paint or stain is reapplied periodically to provide effective protection for the wood product on a permanent basis.

For proper operation of the hardware, make sure it is free of dust and dirt. Cleaning should be done with a mild soap followed by a water rinse. Also, be sure to lubricate the hardware on a regular basis; this is normal and necessary. Use lithium grease based products.

It is normal for there to be condensation at the bottom of your new windows since they are much more airtight than the previous windows. To prevent condensation, you must reduce the humidity level in your home, which is often much too high.

In the case of slight condensation at the bottom of your doors and windows, we recommend that you do not allow this moisture to stagnate on the wood components, and that you remove it as soon as possible.

It is important to check regularly, especially during the 1ère year after installation, that the exterior sealant joints are still in good condition and that nothing has moved.

Before each cold season, we recommend that you check your window and door cold cuts to make sure they are in good condition, that there are no tears for example.

If you have any doubts about whether your thermo is properly insulated, it’s easy to tell if it’s defective:

• If steam is inside the thermo and it is located in the center of the thermo or in the corners, then your thermo is leaking and no longer contains insulating gas. You will have to replace it.

For the cleaning of your windows, we advise you to use water and white vinegar. This will remove all traces of limescale and deposits left by the rain.
